Dealing with Asthma

Yes. You read that right! I have been dealing with exercise induced asthma since the year 2020. What is exercise induced asthma? How am I even dealing with it? How did I discover I am a patient of this disease?

Asthma is a lung disease which narrows the airways, making it difficult to breathe. Symptoms include shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing. Exercise induced asthma is this same disease caused by exercise. This includes running, swimming, skating, etc.

I was born with a weak immune system, so I'm the type that visits a doctor thrice a month or so. I've- unfortunately, have been one of the many unlucky innocent lives whom god gave the fate to suffer from this disease... I'M KIDDING! I get to spend my life just like every other homo-sapien. (But we'll get to that later-) I experienced my first asthma attack about 5 years ago, while playing in the rain with my cousins. After a while, when I got tired, I realized that it got difficult to breathe, and I started coughing violently. It was so painful to the point where I thought I was going to faint. When my father noticed, he took me back inside and I lied on the bed. Back then, I wasn't able to describe the entire feeling to my parents, or what actually happened. They just assumed that it just happened because of the dirty puddles from the rain. Later that day, we visited the doctor, and that's when he announced the news.

Now how am I able to perform my hobbies (mentioned above) without catching an asthma attack? Simple. Just like every other patient. With the help of my inhaler, I can jump around as much as I want :).

The main reason of my sickness is that it's in my genes. I have a history of ancestors who suffered from the same disease.

Around 300 million people worldwide suffer from asthma, and 20 million of them in Pakistan alone. Woah!

Thank you so much for reading this, and please check out my other blogs/stories. I appreciate every person who reads my writings so much, I can not describe it in words.
